CONCRETE (WILD)

In response to the devastation Superstorm Sandy brought to my area, I foraged stones, sand and grass  from the flooded coastlines and mixed them with cement to create a body of work called “Where We Stand.” The pieces were made of 4’ X 4’ squares, each the size of a sidewalk section, marked with sand and grass, encouraging the viewer to reevaluate the qualities of construction materials and recognize the vulnerabilities of our landscape.
